Gibbs-White had been set to join Tottenham Hotspur after Spurs expressed interest in triggering a £60m release clause in 25-year-old's contract, but Forest's appeal halted the deal.
Gibbs-White was due to undergo a medical with Spurs Friday but the attacking midfielder instead joined Forest for pre-season training on Monday morning. Forest posted photographs of Gibbs-White arriving at their training ground on social media.
The League has not yet announced the outcome of the case but Spurs head coach Thomas Frank wants to sign Gibbs-White before his team flies to Hong Kong for a pre-season tour on28 July and a friendly against Arsenal three days later.
Spurs declined to comment on Forest's legal action.
Forest ended all communication with Spurs when learned the London club wanted to sign Gibbs-White, who has two years left on his contract.
Forest officials claim Spurs broke Premier League rule T.1, which that any club who wishes to enter into negotiations with a player who is registered to another club and whose contract has not expired must first obtain the written consent of the player's registered before making contact.
It also states that any club who makes unauthorised direct or indirect contact with a player who is registered to another club and whose contract has not expired is in breach of the rules and is liable to disciplinary action.
